Maker’s Mark sponsors Marion County Education Foundation Ed foundation

The Marion County Education Foundation is pleased to announce Maker’s Mark as a founding sponsor, which ensures support to the Foundation for the next four years.

“Helping the Marion County Education Foundation is one way we can show support for the local community, which has been so good to us, as well as help education, which is truly important to everyone,” said Rob Samuels, an eighth-generation distiller and chief operating officer of Maker’s.

Contributions to the Marion County Education Foundation directly impact classroom activities through grant awards to teachers. Teachers may apply to the Foundation to request funding to support unique and innovative projects. Applications will be evaluated by a panel to ensure that the project aligns with curriculum goals of Marion County Public Schools. The first projects funded by the Foundation will be implemented in the 2019-2020 school year.

Activity Bus

Marion County Public Schools will be offering two activity bus routes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. This opportunity will give more students the means to participate in after school activities on those days.

The parent/guardian permission form must be completed and returned to school administrators before your students can ride the activity bus. Families will receive two (2) pick-up tags, and the person picking up a student must have this displayed on their rear-view mirror.

Students riding the activity bus will be expected to behave appropriately and follow rules according to the district code of conduct. Students must maintain order at all times and obey the instructions of the bus driver. The district activity bus is a privilege and students must behave accordingly.

**The activity bus will NOT be transporting students to their homes, but rather will be dropping them off at school locations for parent pick-up.
