Born Learning now offered at Calvary Elementary School

program update

The Born Learning program -- a series of workshops designed to help parents better prepare children before kindergarten -- is now being offered at Calvary Elementary School.

The program is open to parents or guardians with children ages birth to five years old; parents do not have to have children already in the school system to attend.

Each session lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours and will include a free meal as well as free parenting resources.  The local health department will also be on hand to discuss healthy meal preparation.

According to its website, “the Born Learning Academy provides families and caregivers with practical, user-friendly ideas to turn everyday activities into learning moments. The Born Learning Academy can do more than strengthen your community’s school readiness efforts—it can also help your school partners engage families before kids start kindergarten.

With the addition of Calvary Elementary, the Born Learning program is available at all four of the county’s elementary schools and is funded through grants secured by MCPS.

Those interested in attending can contact Calvary Elementary School at (270) 692-3676 or the Marion County Public School Central Office at (270) 692-3721 to register for the program.
