LES is off to a great start! Students and staff are excited about the new school year. I hope your child has come home telling you about the great things happening in their classroom.

This week, we are studying The Leader in Me Habit #1  - Be proactive. To be proactive, a student should:

1.Develop motivation; take pride in work.

2.Act responsibly toward self, family, school, community, nation, and the world.

3.Show initiative and entrepreneurialism.

4.Use unique talents and abilities to full potential.

5.Think about choices; be accountable and responsible for actions and results, and understand that choices affect others.

Ask your child what they are doing to be proactive at school or at home.

The Lebanon Head Start, which is located across College St. from the school, has called and asked that LES parents not park in their parking lot in the mornings or afternoons. They also have parents that are dropping off or picking up children each day. Please join the pick-up line to receive your child at the gym doors. Only those parents who walk are allowed to come to the front door. If you drive, you need to be in the pick-up line. The line moves quickly and if you will wait until 3:10 or 3:15, there should be little wait at all. Thank you for your cooperation.

School shirts at J&J Inks are still available at the store on Depot St. next to Papa John’s. These will be available for only a short time so be sure and get yours soon.

Let’s work together and make 2017-18 the best school year ever for LES!
