Spelling words this week contain changing the final –y to an –I before adding the ending –ed or -es. Remember spelling sentences and ABC order in cursive are due by Friday. Students were given a new five week spelling list to keep in their homework folders last week.
We will be working hard this week on chapter 14 “Fractions” unit. The area that will be giving students the most difficulty is comparing unlike fractions where they have to find a common denominator. Students will be completing several review fractions packets before we test over this unit.
Students will have a timed quiz this Friday over their 8’s.
We have begun an in depth study of two famous presidents; George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We have been discussing and working on the important events that happened in their life, as well as covering the Revolutionary War and Civil War. This study will take us several weeks to complete.
We had an awesome Valentine party last Wednesday! Thank you for your contributions to make our party so great. By the way those students who participated in the Valentine box competition did an outstanding job! Kids were so excited about them.
-Don’t forget if you have headphones or ear buds your child is strongly encouraged to bring them in to use each day instead of using the class set. We do not want to spread germs or lice!

-March 16 is the end of the third grading period.
