Geography Tuesday

TUESDAY:

Welcome back! First off, you are going to play a game labeling the compass rose. Try not to use your notebooks. You can do it! Just click on the picture below.

I know that you did well, so you can give each other a high-five.

Today's focus is on the globe. You will need to turn to the next page in your notebook and write down the target: I can read the parts of a globe. Next, you will need to cut out your two notebook pages for today. (They are labeled for you.) You will only fold the page titled "Globes". You will need to cut the page with the Equator and the Prime Meridian right in between both sections. Then, you will need to cut a slit in between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres on the Equator page and the Eastern and Western Hemispheres on the Prime Meridian page. Please read these directions over carefully so you fully understand what to do.

Next, glue the top portion of the Equator page to the inside of the Globes booklet on the left side. Look at the example in my notebook to help you. After you do this, you will need to glue the top portion of the Prime Meridian page to the inside of the Globes booklet on the right side. Again, look at the example in my notebook to help you.

Now, you are going to watch a video about the globe and maps to help you understand them better. Click on both pictures to watch each video. Start with the picture on the left.
