Thursday is Calvary’s Shine Your Light Night @ 6:00 pm, We hope you and your family make plans to join us for this great Family Night! Come learn about how the Leader In Me program impacts our schools and can impact your family. Many students will have leadership roles in this event and will performing in our Student Showcase. We will end the evening with light refreshments and maybe a surprise visit from SANTA. We hope each of your families will attend.


The Family Christmas Tree projects are due on Friday. Remember to send in your child’s writing to go along with the family Christmas Project!

MAP assessment is this week. This is an assessment which will compare all of the students across the state on reading and math. Please be sure your child is on time for school.

Math: We will finish our study of positions words and begin composing and decomposing numbers to 20.

Reading: We are learning to understand the subject in a sentence.

Write Steps: Keep an eye on the Lebanon Enterprise’s letters to Santa for your child’s letter.

Science:  We will learn about force with pushes and pulls.

Assessments: DRA reading assessments are happening this week and next, we will not be sending home the Literacy books. DRA is the Reading Diagnostic Assessment Have your child read at least 20 minutes daily.

Christmas: Remember we will have a Christmas party in our room with a gift exchange. I only allow up to a $5.00 gift. Girls will exchange with girls and boys with boys. If this is a hardship please let me know so I can be sure that all children will be part of the fun. Our party will be the 16th after lunch. If you plan on sending a treat please let me know what you plan to send.

Reminder***Service Project for Caring Place,  Items are due by December 13, if you plan on giving items Kindergarten is collecting----onesies, infant socks, toddler pull-ups, diapers, toothpaste, infant toys, or paper towels.  So far we have had nothing brought in for this project.

Sight words: Continue to work on sight words the children are very excited to see words they know when reading. We are completing individual sight word assessments. The range of sight words know is from 0 to 40.  Sight words must be read quickly to be counted as a known word.

Remember to keep sending in Box Tops and Campbellsville labels.
