My name is Amy Mattingly and I am a Marion County native. My parents are Steve and LouAnn Thompson, both of Marion County. In 2004, I married Kurt Mattingly and we have three amazing little girls. Mia, Molly, Murphy. I graduated from Marion County High in 1997, University of Kentucky in 2002 (Bachelor’s in Middle School Education, Math & Language Arts), and Eastern Kentucky University in 2007 (Master’s in Instructional Leadership, principal’s certificate). I also recently became National Board Certified in Early Adolescent English/Language Arts. So as you can see, I love teaching and more importantly, LEARNING! I began my teaching career in Lexington, KY at Crawford Middle School in 2002. In 2004, I moved back to Lebanon and accepted at position at St. Charles in English/Language Arts and taught there for 10 years. In 2014 I made the move to Marion County High School to teach Freshman English. In 2017 grades 6-9 where reimagined! The Marion County Knight Academy and Marion Middle were born. MCKA (formerly Lebanon Middle School) houses both 8th and 9th graders, whereas Marion Middle (formerly St. Charles) houses grades 6-7. Currently I teach Freshman English and Pre-AP English at MCKA. Throughout out my teaching career I have coached both St. Charles Cheerleaders, as well as Marion County High School Cheer. Go Knights!
