Calvary....Home of the Dragons!!

Welcome back to a new school year!  My name is Amy Young and I am thrilled to be one of your teachers and get to know each of you.  It's going to be an exciting year and I can't wait to see all the great things you do.

I was born and raised in Marion County.  My parents are Harry and Lucy Young and I am the oldest of three children.  My sister, Kristie, and her family live in San Antonio, Texas, while my brother, Greg, and I live in Marion County.  I have two children - Jonathan is seventeen and is a senior at Marion County High School while Ann Marie is thirteen and is an eighth grade student at Marion County Knight Academy.  I graduated from St. Catharine College in May 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and from the University of the Cumberlands in May 2016 with a Master's degree as a Literacy Specialist. This will be my seventh year teaching at Calvary Elementary.

A link to my website can be found on Calvary's website and is a valuable resource throughout the school year. It includes weekly newsletters, homework assignments, and current study guides. In addition to my website, I will also by using Remind to send class specific information about homework assignments and upcoming assessments.

If at any time you feel your child is overwhelmed or unclear about what is happening in my class, please let me know.  If you ever need to reach me, you may call and leave a message with Ms. Linda Sapp in the school office at 692-3676 or you may email me at amy.young@marion.kyschools.us.  I will make it a point to contact you before I leave for the day. If you need to reach me after school hours, email is the best way to contact me.

I look forward to working with you and your child and having an exciting and productive year.
