Hi! My name is Mrs. Vivian May and I am SO excited to be a part of the freshmen team! I was born in Dallas, Texas and the oldest of FIVE! I have two younger sisters, Savannah and Rachel, and two younger brothers, Bradley and Cody. I LOVE them! I have lived in many parts of the United States, but did attend West Marion Elementary in the 4th and 5th grade. When I graduated high school I moved to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville where I majored in Elementary Education with a Concentration in English and Oral Communications (shew… a mouth full!) A couple years later I attended University of the Cumberlands where I received my Masters in Arts of Education in Reading/Writing Specialist.
I taught my first year at Taylorsville Elementary for 5th grade reading. That year was very exciting because I won the Kentucky Association of Teacher Educators (KATE) Award, and then went on to win the Southeastern Regional Association of Teacher Educators. I was really shocked and honored to be rewarded for something that I just love doing! I then decided to move closer to home and was hired at Calvary Elementary where I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade! I always dreamed of teaching the older kids so this year I thought I would go for it and try Freshmen English at the Marion County Knight Academy. This will be my eighth year teaching and I am excited to teach the even "bigger" kids!!
I am married to an awesome man, named Michael! I love to eat home cooked meals, which my grandmother makes the best, but I don’t like to cook them (I think that gene skipped me…) I love University of Kentucky sports and will talk to anybody about starting line ups and games! Last but not least, and my two favorite things, I have another boy who has stolen my heart and that is my 5 year old named Jaxson and my baby girl, who is 3, named Olivia. Olivia already loves to play with baby dolls and LOVES food and her big brother. Jaxson has become such a character and I just love playing cars, chase, or ball with him. My husband already has plans of him playing basketball for the University of Kentucky! Our family also grew this past Christmas when we added our goldendoodle, Cali! She is the size of a miniture horse but thinks she is a lap dog!!

I am so excited to be your teacher and for you to be part of this AWESOME class!!
