Originally from the Appalachian Mountains of Pike County, I earned an art education degree from the University of Pikeville. Upon receiving certification I began my career teaching high school art at a residential treatment center for juvenile delinquents called the Kentucky Youth Academy. After two years, the program expanded and I transferred to teach at the Central Kentucky Youth Academy in Washington County, Kentucky. During this time, I completed a special education masters from the University of Kentucky. Once completed, I was fortunate enough to begin teaching here at Lebanon Elementary. Since then, I have earned an additional Masters in Education Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.
It has been my pleasure to be a part of such an arts rich community. I have a great passion and appreciation for all arts disciplines in particular visual arts. My great desire is to enhance the creativity and art appreciation of all my students in this community.
