Welcome to my website! I am orginally from Oklahoma where I taught for 24 years. I was a first grade teacher for 20 years and 3rd grade for 4 years. I married David Whitlock in 2004 and have loved teaching in Kentucky since then. I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and am currently the Reading RTI (Response to Intervention) instructor for grades K-5. This year I am starting my 39th year of teaching!
David and I have four children. Mary lives in New York and works for advertising. Dave and his furture bride, Kayla, live in Middlesboro, Ky and he works for Edword Jones. Harrison lives in Paducah, Ky and works for H.B. Fuller. Madi and her husband, John, reside in Lebanon where she works for Ephraim McDowell in Home Health. We have two precious grandchildren, Eli Walls (6), and Emersyn Grace (2).
Teaching has been a calling for me. One of the sweetest rewards from teaching is watching my former students achieve their dreams. I have reconnected with many of them and am so very proud of their successes! Throughout my career, I have sought guidance, discernment, strength and wisdom daily in teaching my students. One of my favorite quote states that, "A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart." I hope I have and will continue to accomplish this goal.
