The JROTC program recently held its Veteran's Day program in the MCHS gymnasium. Student representatives for the Shield project recently met with Superintendent Schlosser for a brainstorming session. Members of the JROTC program recently presented their Veteran's Day program. MCHS students Cinthya Lopez, Marti Tungate, and Damon Bickett were recently recognized for their entry in the BBB student video contest. MCHS held a Spirit Walk through the hallways for the volleyball team. MCHS students took part in a school-wide pep rally. The MCPS Student Ambassadors participated in team-building activities during their annual retreat. The Marion County FFA Livestock and Dairy judging teams competed at the Kentucky State Fair. Band Camp Getting ready for a movie at Life Ready, Dream Ready Camp. Life Ready, Dream Ready Camp Trent Farmer, Nick Sandusky and Alexis Hayden receive their State FFA Degree. Marion Co. FFA Executive team attend the 89th State Convention in Lexington, KY June 5-7.  They were recognized as a Gold Emblem chapter and ranked as a top 15 chapter. The MCHS chorus sang during the closing day morning program. Marion Co. FFA held its annual awards banquet on May 11. The MCPS Student Ambassadors recently held their end of the year banquet. Students in MCHS science teacher Doug Brown's class launched small rockets as a part of class experiment. The MCHS concert band received a distinguished rating at the 4th District Concert Festival. FFA members recently competed in a regional speaking competition.  Six students advanced to the state competition in June. The KHEAA Road Show stopped by MCHS to meet with students about scholarship opportunities. Elise Carpenter, Brianna Meeks and Nick Sandusky placed 3rd in the state in the KACTE Entrepreneurship contest. PLTW students visited the capitol building as part of the Posters-at-the-Capitol program. Seniors at MCHS took turns signing the Senior Wall in the cafeteria. Financial Advisor Brad Cox spoke at MCHS about financial literacy. MCHS seniors Cameron Logsdon and Jonathan Chesser present their Project Lead the Way capstone project -- The Gutter Cone. Judge Todd Spalding spoke to MCHS students as a part of the Cafe Chat series. JROTC cadets presented service flags during the Veterans Day ceremony at MCHS. Representatives from local businesses spoke to MCHS seniors during Manufacturing Day. The FFA Executive team attended the 90th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, receiving a National 3-STAR rating. The MCHS Culinary Arts student attended the GFS Food Show in Louisville, KY FFA members participated in the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth Contest at the Marion Co. Farm Bureau annual meeting.  FFA members visited Heavenly Haven Farm as part of their annual Farm Tour. The MCHS Student Ambassadors walked through a mock board meeting during their annual retreat. MCHS MCHS help desk students Lamontae Shively and Callie Gribbins set up Chromebooks at Glasscock Elementary. A student at the Area Technology Center works on a welding project. MCHS Chemistry teacher Doug Brown conducts an experiment in class during the first week of school. Opening Day 2017 Marion County FFA Executive team attending the KY FFA Leadership Training Center July 17-21 Exploration Blast students visit the Louisville Zoo. MCHS Art Journaling Mixed Media Arts Camp Nicholas Sandusky was awarded the 2016-17 Teen Leadership Marion County Scholarship. Ms. Veatch's class participates in R20.
