Tenth-grader Summer Votaw twinned with JROTC instructor 1SG Phil Chatigny during Homecoming Week. The MCHS student advisory group recently had its first meeting to brainstorm ways to improve school culture and climate. Coach Reader and his players addressed the student body during the school pep rally. The MCHS band performed at the Memorial Service held at Lebanon’s National Cemetery. The top 11 graduates of the class of 2019 were honored during graduation ceremonies. MCPS Student Ambassadors provided the closing message during Closing Day ceremonies. MCKA students Halee May and Ben Berry and MCHS student Sammy Tate have helped set up 350 Chromebooks for the school district. LeeAnn Jones and Gabbie Brockman participated in the KACTE Entrepreneurship contest, placing 2nd in the state and receiving a $750 prize. Their business plan consisted of making dog beds from t-shirts. Members of the Beta club perform at the state convention. The MCHS JROTC Color Guard recently participated in the Wreaths Across America opening ceremony at the state capitol. Members of the JROTC program recently presented their Veteran's Day program. FFA Executive team attend the 89th State Convention in Lexington, KY June 5-7.  They were recognized as a Gold Emblem chapter and ranked as a top 15 chapter. The MCHS chorus sang during the closing day morning program. The MCHS concert band received a distinguished rating at the 4th District Concert Festival. The KHEAA Road Show stopped by MCHS to meet with students about scholarship opportunities. Elise Carpenter, Brianna Meeks and Nick Sandusky placed 3rd in the state in the KACTE Entrepreneurship contest. PLTW students visited the capitol building as part of the Posters-at-the-Capitol program. Seniors at MCHS took turns signing the Senior Wall in the cafeteria. Financial Advisor Brad Cox spoke at MCHS about financial literacy. MCHS seniors Cameron Logsdon and Jonathan Chesser present their Project Lead the Way capstone project -- The Gutter Cone. Judge Todd Spalding spoke to MCHS students as a part of the Cafe Chat series. JROTC cadets presented service flags during the Veterans Day ceremony at MCHS. Representatives from local businesses spoke to MCHS seniors during Manufacturing Day. The MCHS Culinary Arts student attended the GFS Food Show in Louisville, KY FFA members participated in the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth Contest at the Marion Co. Farm Bureau annual meeting.  The MCHS Student Ambassadors walked through a mock board meeting during their annual retreat. MCHS MCHS help desk students Lamontae Shively and Callie Gribbins set up Chromebooks at Glasscock Elementary. A student at the Area Technology Center works on a welding project.
