We have four amazing parents that have accepted the nomination to run for Marion Co Knight Academy 2021-22 SBDM Council .  We encourage you to read over their statement below and then vote at MCKA on May 26, 2021 from 7:30-4:00pm.  (You will be voting for two parent representatives.)

Amanda Farmer - I would like to be a parent representative on the MCKA SBDM council so that I can have a voice in decision making at my child's school. I have experience with SBDM in the past. I hope to use my experience to make sound decisions for the school that affect all students positively.

Kim Wright - I am running for a parent seat on the SBDM council to be a voice for my son and your student's education. I want the best teachers to be hired for the classrooms, policies and procedures passed to benefit students, and money to be spent resourcefully and not wasted. I have been a classroom teacher at St. Charles Middle/Marion County Middle for 17 years and have previously served on the SBDM council as a teacher. I understand the importance of a strong council and would be dedicated to making decisions to best serve the students at Knight Academy.

Amy Mattingly - As a teacher and parent, I can offer perspective and compassion, while being knowledgeable of current school policy. I can promise to be the voice of MCKA parents. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram if you’d like to speak with me about anything.

Paula Newby - Paula has served on our council for the past year and offers great support for our students and staff.  She would like to continue to serve on the council for another year since her son will be a ninth grade student.
