On March 23, MCKA hosted a district wide Reading Celebration, organized by Mrs. Dana Thomas and MCPS Librarians. Families from across the county came to see Magician Aaron Harp, local author Troy Costisick, and regional authors Amanda Driscoll and Shawn Pryor. Students enjoyed a petting zoo provided by Marion County FFA, a book signing and book purchase opportunity with each author, as well as themed activity rooms hosted schools and community partners.
The turnout was wonderful with lots of audience participation during the magic show. MCPS also hosted an Art show featuring many student artists, with category winners announced.
