MCPS is currently accepting bids on the Dream Bus, the converted school bus the district previously used as part of the summer learning and summer feeding program.
Sealed bids will be received until 11:00 am, Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the MCPS Board of Education building. Bids must be typed or written in ink. Bids must be in an envelope marked “Bus” in the lower left-hand corner. The bidder’s return address shall appear in the upper left-hand corner. The seller reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.
About the Dream Bus:
1998 International “Dream Bus” conversion with DT466 motor with approximately 226,000 miles. The Dream Bus has a rebuilt transmission which was installed in 2015 and has approximately 6,000 miles on it since rebuild.
Bus runs and drives. Equipped with working air conditioning, stereo, and TV. Awning is in good condition. Good tires.
Known issues:
- Breaker #2 trips when running everything at once, likely a wiring issue
- Small shimmy in the front end while driving
Overall, a solid bus with a strong DT466 platform and lots of potential
