MCPS is preparing to administer the next round of Terrace Metrics testing to measure social and emotional strengths of students. This assessment is limited to students in 4-12 grade.  MCPS is also in the process of sending home an informational letter with students that outlines the benefits of the assessment -- some parents may have already received this letter. The letter also includes and opt-out section, which parents should complete if they DO NOT want their child to participate in the Terrace Metrics testing.

The following was emailed to MCPS families of students in 4-12 grade:

MCPS families,

Some of you may have already received a letter that was sent home with your son or daughter regarding the next round of Terrace Metrics testing. This is an optional test designed to measure the social and emotional strengths and needs of students.

The letter which was sent home includes additional information regarding this test as well as an opt-out section. If you would prefer your son or daughter NOT take the Terrace Metrics test, please complete the opt-out section and return it to your child’s school counselor by the date noted in the letter. Otherwise, no action is required.

If you have additional questions, please contact your child’s school counselor.
