If you use our mobile app (and we certainly hope you do!) please make sure you have downloaded the correct one -- look for our MCPS logo. There is a Marion County Public Schools in West Virginia that also has a mobile app and some have mistakenly downloaded it instead. As you can imagine, some of their notifications have caused some confusion locally.

With new guidance from the Kentucky Department for Public Health regarding COVID-19, we want to make sure our families understand one of the important changes in the way we’ll communicate information about close contacts at school. Although the new guidance from KDPH indicates that schools no longer have to complete contact tracing, it is recommended that families are notified when a student may have been exposed to a positive case at school. Each day we’ll send out an automated message by email and text message to the families of students who were exposed at school. These messages will include the student’s first name -- that way, if you have multiple children in MCPS, you’ll know which one was affected. Based on the updated guidance, these students do not need to quarantine, but KDPH does recommend that they receive a COVID-19 test 5-7 days following the exposure. We also encourage all parents and guardians to have up-to-date contact information listed in Infinite Campus. If your phone number has changed or you have a new email address, please contact your child’s school so we can update that information in Infinite Campus.
