It's Teacher Appreciation Week and we want to know: Who was your favorite teacher in Marion County Public Schools?

Today is School Lunch Hero Day -- a day to celebrate our cafeteria staff for the important work they do. Our School Lunch Heroes serve over 4,600 meals every single day. So if you see a cafeteria staff member today, be sure to thank them for their heroic efforts!

If you haven't driven past lately, there's been a lot happening at the site of our new Calvary Elementary. And don't forget to visit our website for information on this project: https://www.marion.kyschools.us/o/mcps/page/new-calvary-elementary

If you haven't already, make sure you stop by the Marion County Public Library to check out our Elementary Schools Visual Art Show. These works of student art will be on display all week.

Long-time assistant coach and MCHS alumnus Matthew Thomas has been named the next head boys basketball coach at Marion County High School.

This is National School Breakfast Week, so we're encouraging all of our students to take advantage of school breakfast!

From the MCPS Transportation Department: Due to issues from the recent hazardous weather, school buses will not be able to transport students on a section of Frogtown Rd. The affected section extends from the end of Arthur Mattingly Rd. to Loretto. Students on the other end of Frogtown Rd. will be transported.
For those affected, please plan on dropping students off at West Marion Elementary School by 7:30 a.m. to be transported to their schools. Students will also need to be picked up at West Marion Elementary in the afternoon.
The primary routes affected include bus #161 and bus #181.
Please help us share this important information with those who may be affected.
MCPS will continue to provide updates as they are available.

Due to ongoing issues related to the recent hazardous weather, there will be no school in Marion County tomorrow, Monday, March 6. This will not be an NTI day.
The school district chose not to use an NTI day because many families are still without power.
